Thoughts about ChatGPT and its implications for teaching/learning writing skills

There have been quite a few articles on the recently launched AI tool, ChatGPT which can write essays from scratch, or even improve texts already written.

Its implications for teaching / learning writing skills, as well as jobs like journalism are huge.

It goes way beyond translation tools like DeepL, that many of our students (and we teachers!) make regular use of.
